SCHAGHTICOKE - Ruth A. Davila, 91, of Schaghticoke, peacefully entered into eternal life at home on Monday, December 1, 2025, surrounded by her loving daughters and her friend Jacki. Born March 11, 1934, in Pittstown, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Clarence Groff and Frances Pike Groff. Ruth retired, at the age of 80, from her role as the Laundry Supervisor at Villa Mary Immaculate Nursing Home in Albany, N.Y. In addition to spending time with her family, Ruth enjoyed gardening and harvesting vegetables in rows upon rows, usually followed by a peaceful country ride and a good lunch date. She was known for her amazing cheesecake, and she was a NASCAR enthusiast who especially enjoyed riding in her Ford Mustang convertible. She was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church in Troy, N.Y. We would like to thank Jen, Jacquelyn, and Kayla for their unwavering support and compassionate care of Ruth. We would also like to thank Squirt, Coconut, and Daisy her loyal friends whose constant companionship brought her comfort and joy. Ruth is survived by her children, Richard Clickner Jr., of Waterford, Luann Schermerhorn (John), of Schenectady, Michelle D. Osborn, of Troy, and Bonnie J. Davila-Klaer (William), of Johnsonville; and was preceded in death by her son, the late Randall L. Clickner. She is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ruth was one of six children, and is survived by her sister, Marion Nickarz of Syracuse. A service will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Parker Bros. Memorial in Watervliet. The Rite of Committal and entombment will follow in St. Mary's Mausoleum, Troy. Friends are invited to attend and may also visit with Ruth's family on Friday from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m., at the funeral home.
