Sandra J. "Alex" Lech

Lech, Sandra J. "Alex" ALBANY Sandra J. "Alex" Lech, age 69, passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at Albany Memorial Hospital. She was born July 24, 1943 in Amsterdam and was the oldest daughter of the late Marshall J. and Hedy Lech. She was a graduate of St. Mary's Institute and later, the Mildred - Elley Business School. For over 40 years, she was employed by the New York State Department of Health in Albany before retiring. Sandra is survived by her boyfriend and loving partner of 25 years, Michael Heath of Albany; beloved sister, Marsha (Edward) Prokop of Broadalbin; brother, James (Susan) Lech of Westminster, S.C. She was a loving Cioci to her nephew, Erik (Lisa) Srokowski of Ballston Spa; and a niece, Kassie (Alan) Ward of Watkinsville, Ga. and their children; her uncle, John Hughes of Amsterdam; and many wonderful cousins and friends survive. Sandra aka "Alex" enjoyed traveling. She attended many NASCAR events, football games and especially enjoyed fantasy football leagues. She enjoyed an annual weekend with her "Lech girl cousins" each year, where many happy memories were enjoyed. She traveled to many states over the years visiting family and friends. She was an avid reader and crafter. She had a generous spirit and a great laugh. She was loved and will be missed by all. The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 6, 2013 at the Jendrzejczak Funeral Home, 200 Church St., Amsterdam with Deacon Michael Ryba officiating. Interment will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call from 5 - 7 p.m. Friday, July 5, 2013 at the funeral home.
