Satwant Garcha Obituary
SLINGERLANDS - Satwant Singh Garcha, MDS, 82, of Slingerlands passed over on Sunday, October 27, 2024, at St. Peter's Hospital. He was born in Bombay, India on July 4, 1942, and was the son of the late Niranjan Singh Garcha and Mehinder Kaur Garcha. He was educated in India and was a graduate of GDC Dental School in Bombay. Dr. Garcha was a prosthodontist and had been the Senior Dental Surgeon and Chief Medical Officer at the Bombay Port Trust Hospital. He was awarded many prestigious dental and prothodontic awards throughout his career. He was the president of Indian Prosthodontic Society.
He is the husband of Balvinder Kaur Garcha; father of Inderpal Singh Garcha, DDS (Sundeep) and Kunwarjit Singh Garcha, MBBS (Hamsavali); brother of Harbhanjan Singh Garcha and Gurinder Singh Garcha; grandfather of Kiran Kaur Garcha and Rohan Singh Garcha; also survived by several nieces and nephews.
His true love was exploring new dental treatments and research, travel, having discussions on philosophy and politics, and spending time with his family.
Sikh funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday at the Gardner Earl Crematory, 186 Oakwood Avenue, Troy, N.Y. 12182. Followed by prayer services in East Greenbush Gurudwara, 301 Washington Avenue, Rensselaer, N.Y. 12144.

Had known Mr Garcha since 1965 in Bombay where I joined my job as a probationar in Reserve Bank of India. I found him to be committed to his work and helpful to others. It is a great personal loss to me. I deeply grieve his loss. May God bless peace to his soul.
