Weisheit, Sharon
GLENMONT - Sharon M. Weisheit, 61, passed away peacefully at Saratoga Hospital on November 20, 2025, with her loving family by her side.
Born in Albany, N.Y., on July 12, 1964, she was the daughter of the late William R. and Patricia (McNessor) McMullen Sr. Sharon graduated from Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk High School. She began her working career at Farm Family Insurance in Glenmont, then at the Dormitory Authority of N.Y.S., later at Oldcastle Precast in South Bethlehem, and finished her career at Albany Medical Center in the Department of Planning and Construction. Sharon always enjoyed her work environment and took pride in her accomplishments. She was respected and loved by her co-workers.
Sharon married Douglas, the love of her life, on June 1, 1991. Together they raised a wonderful family, Bryan (Stephanie) Weisheit, Katherine Weisheit, and Caroline (Paul Igo) Weisheit. She was blessed with two grandchildren whom she adored, Theodore "Teddy" Jeffrey Weisheit and Cecilia "CeCe" Sharon Weisheit. They were a great joy and a constant source of motivation for her. She was privileged to be a parttime caregiver for both and loved doing it.
In addition, Sharon is survived by her brother, William (Donna) McMullen Jr.; and her in-laws, William (Rose) Weisheit III, Richard (Karen) Weisheit Sr., and Ronald (Marie) Weisheit, as well as multiple aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and great-nephews. Sharon was predeceased by her best friend and loving sister, Donna Margiasso; and Donna's husband, John Margiasso.
Sharon's family were her greatest joy. She was proud of the adults her children had become. Their support, love, and care helped her through more than they may ever realize. Her grandchildren were an added blessing, she adored and treasured every moment she spent with them. Her husband, Doug, adored her.
Sharon battled breast cancer for nearly 20 years, with a determination and strength that few possess. No matter what she faced, she met it head-on, dug deep to get through it, and did so with a smile on her face and genuine compassion for those who helped and treated her. Her optimism, courage, and perseverance were unmatched. Many did not realize how much she endured because of her cheerful disposition and her drive to live a full life. She was a remarkable and amazing person, who will forever be Dr. Collea's "Energizer Bunny who takes a licking and keeps on ticking."
We especially want to thank Dr. Rufus Collea, Andrea Breen, and all the fantastic staff and nurses at NYOH for their love, care, and treatment throughout her battle. They became "family," and words cannot express how grateful we are for their support, and for the added time they made possible, time that allowed us to build more cherished memories. We also thank Dr. Boris Shkolnik, and all of the other medical staff outside NYOH, who helped treat and care for Sharon throughout her battle. And last but not least, we are forever grateful to all of Sharon's family, friends, and co-workers who have been there for her and her family during her fight.
