Ed and family,
I was sorry to read about Shawn's passing in the paper. I had the pleasure of meeting him when he golfed in my brother's memorial tournament a few years back and he seemed like a very nice guy. I know from personal experience how hard it can be to lose a brother way too early. My condolences.

i am so sorry to hear about shawn's passing. my entire family has known all of the barber boys from smms and this is a tragedy of immense proportion. it's so sad when a good person is taken way too soon as in this case. it just doesn't seem fair. i along with the rest of the byrne family wish the entire barber family peace in your time of sorrow. i'm sure you all know that shawn is in a better place and you will see him again someday.

Shawn, I wanted to write to you before you left us, but you left us way too soon. I wanted to let you know that you were, and still are, my hero. It's pretty simple why... you always had a smile on your face and you were always positive. The strength and courage that you displayed was unrivaled. You never let me know that you were in pain or suffering in any way. Now you are in a better place, not in pain or suffering but looking down on us. I hope that I can have half the strength and courage that you showed me. I miss you very much and I assure you that I will do what I can for Sandy and Olivia in any way possible.
