GLENVILLE - Shayne Michael Herbeck, age 50, passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2023.
Shayne was born on July 4, 1972. He was a graduate of Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake High School and attended Devry University in Columbus, Ohio. He worked as a directional drilling laborer.
Shayne loved skiing and spending time on the lake with friends. He was an avid fan of the Yankees and Giants; and of course, loved the 4th of July. He also enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephew. Those who knew him will miss his kindness, positivity and infectious laugh. He went through life with a smile on his face and did his best to ensure his family and friends did the same.
Survivors include his loving mother, Susanne Haberbush; and sisters, Stephanie Herbeck-van Buren, and Adelaide Haberbush-Pultorak. He was predeceased by his sister, Rebecca Haberbush.
Details for a celebration of life will be shared with family and friends at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Shayne to the American Heart Association.

It always takes a while to process death, an inconceivable concept. I never could wrap my head around the idea of god or the afterlife however, Shayne has seemed to follow me around ever since his passing. I saw him in the snow that fell as I skied the same trail he´d skied with me just years before, I saw him in the fireworks that lit up the sky on the fourth of July, I see him in every smile, every sunrise, every sunset, the list goes on. All of these things fill me with joy and hope, which Shayne did to anybody who knew him. Although there´s no way of knowing where his soul rests, I know his spirit will continue to follow me in all the simplest yet beautiful things. Shayne had the most beautiful soul, may it live on through those who knew him. Missed infinitely, I love you Shayne.

Sue and family, I´m so sorry for the loss of Shayne. No words can bring comfort. I will miss talking and seeing Shayne and his smile as well as his upbeat personality! Still can´t believe I won´t see him next door anymore.

I have so many memories of the good times had with Shayne they're impossible to list herein. He was a great friend willing to help you when you were down and lift your spirits with a laugh. Some memories: Sr Prom weekend. Campfires at 2nd falls. Watching movies in the basement with the Woodstock roaring. Billy Joel playing while we all hung out in the dining room with family and friends. Trips and adventures galore. I will miss him dearly and always remember him fondly. My sincere condolences to his family. Love you brother

Hi I was Shayne's niece. Words can't express how much i'm going to and already missing Shayne. I can't even thing how much missy (sue), my mom, and addy feel. I still see him smiling and laughing at my stupid jokes. My mom is so strong for going through this. She already lost her sister and now her brother? I am hurting a lot and I feel guilty. Instead of seeing my uncle i went to get a kitten with my friend. I didn't know that would be the last time I could have seen him. I should have been there. I wish I was there even if we didn't even talk and I could have just said "I love you" one last time. Or sit in the living room when nobody but us with us. Eat ice cream at 10:00 in the morning. That last thing he said was I love you. I didn't even say it back because I got distracted by something stupid. He told me to carve hearts in the snow on his car so I will never stop. For a while I couldn't process that he was really gone. But now that I am I felt like I needed to write this. I love him so much and I hope he is up in heaven dancing around with Becky and Gina. I love you Shayne and you will always be remembered. Keep smiling and lighting up everybody's faces with laughter and Joy like you always did whenever you walked into a room. This picture describes exactly you. Please stay that way. I love you. Rest in peace.

Being his little cousin, Shayne was the closest I had to a big brother. He loved with his whole heart and made sure you knew it. I remember seeing Bernie Williams at The Egg with Shayne and my parents... one of my last great memories of with my dad... and now Shayne.
