COHOES - Shirley Ann Jones, 57, died in the comfort of her home on Thursday, January 26, 2023.
Born in Troy on June 17, 1965, she was the daughter of the late Jerry Jones and Nancy Archambeault, who survives her. Shirley worked for many years as a home health aide for several different companies. She loved to read, and had an extensive collection of books she acquired over the years, many of which she had read twice! She could often be found tending to her garden in the summers, and she was always looking forward to the fruits of her labors come fall. She was dedicated to her family as the oldest of six siblings. She was a non-judgmental listener as she provided a safe space for her loved ones to be themselves. More recently, Shirley thoroughly enjoyed the time spent with her grandchildren both locally and in Florida.
Shirley is survived by her sons, Theodore Judkins III and Jeremy (April) Judkins; her grandchildren, Xavier, Theodore IV, Lily, Dameon, Emma, Jeremy, and Gabrielle; her siblings, Jerry Jones, Catherine (Kevin Van Buren) Jones, Barbara (Douglas) Palazeke, Douglas La Porte, and Roseann (Al) Deeb; her aunt and uncle, Dan and Rose Di Nuzzo and their son Daniel, and by many adoring nieces, nephews, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her father and by her daughter, Stephanie Jones.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, February 1, 2023, at 7 p.m. in the Victory Church, 118 Quail St., Albany.
