Siegwalt Ludke Obituary

Ludke, Siegwalt
GLENVILLE - Siegwalt Ludke, age 84, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at his home. Siegwalt was born on February 8, 1940, in Kulczyn, Poland (Prussia) and was the son of the late Rudolf and Ludmilla (Witkowski) Ludke.
Siegwalt proudly immigrated from Karlsruhe, Germany to the U.S. in 1952 when he was 12 years of age. He later attended Hudson Valley Community College, where he graduated as part of the first graduating class of HVCC at their new campus. He then went on to graduate from Union College, where he earned a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering. Siegwalt had a lengthy and dynamic career as an electrical engineer with the G.E. R & D Center in Niskayuna. His unique intelligence and innovative pursuits led him and a small team of engineers to develop a historical breakthrough in the operation of CAT scans. Earning several awards and patents with his colleagues, Siegwalt helped revolutionize the field of medical analysis, creating the 3D MRI imaging technology that we use today. His collective research aided in notable advancements in G.E. Healthcare.
Along the way, Siegwalt met his beloved wife, the late Deborah Adams, and the two were wed on October 1st, 1966. In addition to his occupational endeavors, Siegwalt found joy in volunteering for Habitat for Humanity, country square dancing group, volunteering for the Food Pantry at Faith Baptist Church, avid gardener, and active member of small group Bible study at Faith Baptist Church.
Siegwalt is survived by his loving sons, David (Jennifer) Ludke and Christopher (partner Jessica) Ludke; his adored grandchildren, Nathaniel, Maxwell, Sara, and Jacob Ludke; his dear siblings, Arnold (Joan) Ludke, Harry (Ann) Ludke, and Lucy (Richard) Murray and brother-in-law, Richard (Grace) Adams Jr; and his many wonderful nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Siegwalt was preceded in death by his wife, Deborah J. Ludke.
A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at 1:00 p.m., at Faith Baptist Church, 11 Glenridge Rd., Rexford, N.Y.
Interment will be held privately, at Sweetman Cemetery, Charlton, N.Y.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Food Pantry at Faith Baptist Church.
Arrangements are entrusted to Townley & Wheeler Funeral Home, 21 Midline Road, Ballston Lake, and they encourage you to view and leave messages on Siegwalt's Book of Memories at www.TownleyWheelerFH.com
