Stasia Stryjek
1923 - 2021
Stryjek, Stasia ALBANY Stasia Stryjek, 97, peacefully passed into eternal rest on Thursday, January 7, 2021, at Pruitt Health Nursing Home in Panama City, Fla. with her loving daughter and son-in-law at her side. She was born in Albany on March 23, 1923. Family was very important to Stasia. There was never any question over who the cornerstone of the family was. Through some very tough times, with her staunch commitment to her Catholic faith as her guide, she steadfastly provided love, guidance, and direction to her family. Her children's friends, who looked forward to her famous Golumbkis, affectionately called her "Ma." They, too, would get words of wisdom and direction when needed. She loved her Arbor Hill neighborhood, her church (Saint Casmir), and particularly the people she called neighbors and friends. Stasia was predeceased by her loving husband of 52 years Eugene Walter Stryjek; and her son Eugene Walter Stryjek Jr. (Peggy). She is survived by her daughter Mary Anne Crane (David) of Panama City, Fla.; sons, Paul Stryjek (Sandra, deceased; Judy) of Ballston Spa, and John Stryjek (Ann) of West Suffield, Conn.; her brother Louis Dobek; her grandchildren, Nicholas, Matthew, Robert, William, Allison, Joshua, Jonathan, Nicole, John, Jimmy, Michael; and her great-grandchildren, Cassandra, Bowden, Addison, Peyton, Peyton, Collin, Elizabeth, Ethan and Logan. The family of Stasia Stryjek would like to thank Covenant Care Hospice for providing compassionate care through her final days and the staff and nurses of Pruitt Health of Panama City, Fla. for truly providing our Mom with fantastic care over the last year. Special love to Mary Anne and Dave Crane for unselfishly being Mom's loving caretakers over the last seven years. Words cannot express our gratitude. We can never thank you enough. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Stasia's family on Monday, January 18, from 9 to 10 a.m. at the Lasak & Gigliotti Funeral Home, 208 North Allen St., Albany. Dear Mary Anne and family, it is with a very heavy heart I have heard about your Mom's passing. So many good memories of sitting on the stoop on Sheridan Ave and her being a very nice Lady. May the Angels have her in their Arms and may she be forever in Peace with Mr. Stryjek and Gene....God Bless all.
