Sylvia E. Welter

Welter, Sylvia E. DUANESBURG Sylvia E. Welter, 70, of Duanesburg, died suddenly April 29, 2009 at Albany Medical Center in Albany. Born in Troy, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Emil and Johana (Bohnet) Kuhn. Sylvia was employed for 41 years for Sunnyview Hospital in Schenectady as an executive assistant for four CEO's of the hospital, retiring in 2007. She also served as an administrative assistant to the board of directors for the hospital. After retirement, she volunteered in the medical staff office in the hospital and worked part-time as a secretary in the psychology department. Sylvia was the president of the Sunnyview Alumni Association. She was a member of the New Apostolic Church in Rotterdam. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by one brother, Emil Adolf Kuhn Jr. Sylvia is survived by her husband Leonard Welter whom she married February 18, 1983; three children, Eric Ford and his companion Katie Jiminez of Schenectady, David Ford and his wife Tammy of Ky. and Ernest Ford and his companion Dawn Oliver of Duanesburg; also survived by 11 grandchildren, Emily, Jacob, Tiffany, Eric, Dennis, Cory, Bianca, Sarah, Jessica, Shania and Harrison. Funeral services will be Saturday 10 a.m. at the New Apostolic Church, 2389 Curry Road in Rotterdam. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours will be Friday, 5-8 p.m. at the Bond Funeral Home, Broadway and Guilderland Avenues, Schenectady. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Park in Colonie.
