Thelma M. Prescott

MECHANICVILLE Thelma M. Penders Prescott, 84, of Main Street, died on September 3, 2005 at Evergreen Commons. Born in Cohoes, she was the daughter of the late James Penders and Rhea Girard Penders. A former Cohoes and Waterford resident, she lived in Mechanicville for the past 15 years. Thelma was a machinist at the Watervliet Arsenal for eight years, retiring in 1978. She also worked at the arsenal during World War II and was a homemaker for most of her life. Thelma was an avid bowler for many years at Troy Bowl and Alpha Lanes. She was a communicant of St. Peter's Church, Stillwater. Survivors include two daughters, Wanda Watson (Peter) of Saratoga Springs, Beverly P. Nash (Thomas) of Tamarac, Fla.; two sons, Lloyd J. Prescott (Susan) of Speigletown and Torrance F. Prescott (Laurie) of Schaghticoke; a sister, Benita Blanchard (John) of Cohoes and Fla.; 11 grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and two nieces. Funeral services will be at 9:00 a.m. Monday from the McLoughlin & Mason Funeral Home, 109th Street and Third Avenue, Lansingburgh and at 10:00 a.m. in St. Peter's Church, Stillwater, where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. William Turnbull, the pastor. Private burial will take place in St. Joseph Cemetery, Waterford. Calling hours are Sunday 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
