Semago, Thomas J.
NORTH BETHLEHEM - Thomas J. Semago,76, entered into eternal life on Sunday, May 4, 2025, at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter's surrounded by his loving family.
Tom was born in McKeesport, Pa., the son of the late Joseph and Mary Salopek Semago. Tom was a graduate of Serra Catholic High School and Immaculate Conception Seminary. Tom began work on his master's degree at St. Rose, but his studies were interrupted to complete his military service in the United States Navy during the Vietnam Era.
Tom was a man of many talents who loved talking to people and telling stories. He was a seminarian, a teacher, a retail manager, he operated his own business for more than forty years, and most recently, a floor attendant at the Saratoga Casino.
Tom is survived by his sparring partner of 52 years, Christine Bolognino Semago; his children, Jason and Stacy Semago; his dear in-laws, Gina and Gary Bohl, Jim Bolognino and Cindy Derue; and his special nieces and nephews, Jared Bohl, Matt and Jessica Bohl, Gary and Sarah Bohl and their children, Jack and Stella, Amy and Chris Cruz and their children, Carter and Carmen, Vicky and Mike Siy, Laura Bolognino and Matt Snyder, and Gianna and Jimmy Bolognino. He is also survived by his brother, Ron Semago, and his family; his aunt, Marian Salopek; and he was especially close to his cousins, Frank and John Lokmer, Chris and Paul Debolt, Tom, Susan, and Tim Salopek. He is also survived by his canine companion, Mickey.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Tom's family Wednesday, May 7, 2025, 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Lasak & Gigliotti Funeral Home, 208 North Allen Street, Albany, N.Y. 12206. Please enter the funeral home from the rear parking lot entrance only.
Funeral services Thursday, May 8, 2025 at 9:00 a.m. at All Saints Catholic Church, Albany, N.Y., where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated. The Rite of Committal will be held at St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands, N.Y., immediately following the Mass. To leave a special message for the family, please visit www.LGFuneralHome.com
