SCOTIA Thomas J. Therrien, 37, of Vista Dr., Scotia, died Wednesday January 22, 2003 at Ellis Hospital following a long illness. Born in Schenectady, the son of John and Mildred Sutherland Therrien of Niskayuna, he was a longtime area resident. He graduated from Niskayuna High School and also from SUNY at Albany with a degree in math and computer science in 1987. Tom was a computer consultant for AJE Softwear Systems. He was a member of St. Josephs Church in Scotia, the Highland Soccer Club, Glen-Worden PTA, Friends of Music, Phi Beta Kappa fraternity and was active in many community activities. Tom touched the hearts of many people. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Verra Therrien, whom he married on June 27, 1987; two sons, Anthony and Jeremy Therrien of Scotia; two daughters, Elisa and Gabriella Therrien of Scotia; his mother and father, John and Mildred Sutherland Therrien of Niskayuna; five sisters, Pat Therrien of Floyd, Va., Theresa Coons and her husband Casey of Sloansville, Kathleen Therrien of Charlton, Mass., Joan Justice of Scotia, Eileen Sack and her husband James of Ballston Spa; two brothers, Michael Therrien and his wife Sharon of Schenectady, and Joseph Therrien of Central Bridge; father and mother-in-law, John and Nadine Verra of Rotterdam; three brothers-in-law, Michael Verra and his wife Gail of Westbury, L.I., Jeff Verra and his wife Jennifer of Schenectady, and Ronald Verra of Rotterdam; two sisters-in-law, Diana Seymour and her husband Joseph of Hillsdale, N.J. and Maureen Verra of Schenectady; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother-in-law, Henry Verra. Relatives and friends are invited to attend services, which will be held on Saturday, January 25 at 11 a.m. at St. Josephs Church, Scotia, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be Friday evening from 4 to 8 at the Daly Funeral Home, 242 McClellan St. Interment will be at St. Cyrils Cemetery, Rotterdam.
