Thomas Vance Obituary

Vance, Thomas "Tucker" GREENVILLE, N.Y. Thomas "Tucker" Vance, 62, passed away on September 28, 2008 at Sunny Hill surrounded by his family. He was born in Albany, N.Y. on June 3, 1946, son of Martha (Palmer) Vance and the late Frank Vance. Tucker served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam era and was a member of the Greenville American Legion Post #291 and the V.F.W. Post #3559 in Fla. He was well known for his witty sense of humor and always had a wise crack or joke ready. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Besides his father he was predeceased by a brother, Larry Vance. Surviving are his mother, Martha (Palmer) Vance; three sisters, Audrey Reed of Boise, Idaho, Suzanne Downs of Clifton Park, N.Y. and Lynnda Capellan of Giddletown, N.Y. Tucker is also survived by his "adopted" families, the Cornells and the Nicholsens; as well as his many friends. Calling hours will be Wednesday, 4 to 8 p.m. at the Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 SR81, Greenville. The Greenville American Legion Post will conduct services at the funeral home on Wednesday, 7:45 p.m. Interment to which relatives and friends are invited will be Thursday, 4 p.m. in the Greenville Cemetery.

The Gift of Friendship

I only met uncle Tucker a few times but he has left a lasting impression in my memories. He always made me laugh and I loved his sense of humor! My condolences go out to the family and adopted families. Krystal, I believe that you are an angel sent from heaven. You are the strongest person I know and I admire you for your strength and courage. I love you.
