Vernon Blackmar Clearwater
Clearwater, Vernon Blackmar CATSKILL Vernon Blackmar Clearwater, 85 of Catskill, N.Y., went to be with his Lord on June 8, 2021, in Zellwood, Fla. where he currently resided, while at home with his loving wife, Judith L. Clearwater, due to complications from Pulmonary Fibrosis. Son of Ada and Richard D. Clearwater; Vern had 15 brothers and sisters, many of whom still live in Catskill and the surrounding areas. With such a large family, Vernon leaves behind many loving relatives all of whom he touched in some way. A true Catskill native, Vernon was a friend to many and beloved by all he touched. He worked several jobs during his life but was mostly known as the owner/proprietor of Clearwater Heating and Plumbing. Always quick with a smile and a joke, he was always positive about life, and a man who could carry a conversation with anyone he met. Vernon was a veteran of the Armed Forces, serving in the Army from 1954 to 1957, stationed in Germany. Known as "Pop Pop" to his grandkids, Vern was very proud of all of them and was never happier than to be spending time with his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years Judith; his daughters, Paula Schoonmaker and husband Barry, Jodi Guenthner and husband Michael, and son Vernon Clearwater and wife Kerri. Vernon and Judith, lifelong Lutherans, were members of Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Delmar, N.Y. Donations may be made in his memory to the church. Family remembrance and arrangements for interment will be held at a later date.
