WALTER L. GLASS III

Glass, Walter L. III CLAYTON, N.Y. Walter L. Glass III, 58, died suddenly at his home in Clayton on Tuesday, August 3, 2010. Born June 20, 1952 in Albany, N.Y., he was the son of the late Walter L. Glass Jr. and Mildred T. Glass of Kinderhook, N.Y. and 1000 Island Park, N.Y. He attended Curry College and graduated from Wentworth Institute, Boston, Mass. He was a mechanical contractor and project manager, employed by J. V. Warren, Inc. of Rensselaer, N.Y. and E. B. Mechanical of Mechanic-ville, N.Y. He had also been president of Industrial Process Piping Co., Latham, N.Y. He is survived by his wife, Alayne F. Glass of Old Chatham, N.Y.; daughters, Brooke G. Manno, Alexandria, Va. and Alisha M. Glass, Hoosick Falls; stepdaughters, Jillian A. Fenton, Erica S. Castillo, and Karlyn M. Hinkley; sisters, Ruth G. McKenzie, New York City and 1000 Island Park, Marsha A. Glass, Wellesley Island, N.Y., and Mary E. Glass, Staatsburg, N.Y.; nephews, Alexander and Christopher McKenzie and McCabe Glass; one great-nephew and two great-nieces. A sister, Susan S. Glass, predeceased him. As a third generation summer resident of 1000 Islands Park, he loved the river and boating. Arrangements are with Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., Clayton. There will be no calling hours or funeral service. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Donations in his memory may be made to the Chatham Rescue Squad.
