William Bradley Obituary
ALBANY - On Wednesday, April 5, 2023, William C. "Dollar Bill" Bradley, 75, passed away peacefully at home, lying next to his loving wife, after days of being surrounded by his family. Bill bravely battled his illness with every fiber of his being.
Born and raised in Albany, Bill was a proud veteran who entered the service upon his eighteenth birthday. After his honorable discharge, Bill spent many years as a local bartender, followed by a successful career as a private investigator with Probst Investigations, working for the Rensselaer County Public Defender's Office.
Bill was predeceased by his parents, William Bradley and Santa Lucia "Sadie" Carson. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Susan; his six children, Billy, Lauren, Bobby (Nicole), Jessica (Todd), Brian (Kate), and Shannon; four beautiful grandchildren whom he adored, Parker, Sloane, Joey and Sadie; his beloved brother, Philip (Ann), whom he often referred to as "the best"; his nephew, David; his lovely grandniece Rachel, and many more cherished relatives and friends.
Bill was a gifted storyteller with an uncanny ability to grab the attention of any room. He enjoyed telling jokes, having laughs and smoking the occasional cigar with friends. He was especially fond of Saratoga Race Track, vacationing on the ocean and overnight trips to Turning Stone Casino with the love of his life, Sue. Above all, the most important thing in life to Bill was his family. He lived his words "Family First" everyday, enjoying the many family gatherings at his home that always included his brother Phil's family, and his sister-in-law, Pat Gerard (Pete.)
Calling hours will be held at New Comer, located at 343 New Karner Road in Colonie, on Wednesday, April 12 from 4–7 p.m. A Christian religious ceremony will be held at the same location on Thursday, April 13 at 10:30 a.m. Entombment will follow at St. Agnes Cemetery in Menands.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions should be sent to The Albany Housing Coalition: Veterans Housing and Services (VHS).

He loved his family, as I read his famous quote Family First. What a turnout at the wake where I got to meet the amazing family that he raised with his Susan. Susan and your beautiful family -- what can anyone say when your husband has passed. Billy
was one in a million -- he adored his family and was loved by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Cherish you memories every moment of every day -- as I cherish memories of my Bob. I remember one day at the track -- he hit a "big one" and gave use money to go out to dinner -- that was Billy -- generous and always with a smile.
