Bill Lovelock gave me my application to join the State Police in 1962, and followed up to make sure I sent it in. I remember that day and event like it was yesterday. I worked in a gas station in Colonie and he would stop in along with other Troopers. We followed each others careers, Bill Lovelock was a legend in the State police but anyone who knew him knew that. Bill was one of my all time favorite people and eventhough we did not see each other that often when we would meet it was like we saw each other yesterday, he had that effect on everyone. The picture says it all that smile was one in a million and then his eyes would twinkle. I along with many, many others will miss him. God Bless you William C. Lovelock.

As a young trooper in 1981, I recall that Bill always had time for his troopers, and he always provided us with encourging words of support and guidance for what was, at many times, a difficult job.
Rest in Peace, Bill!

I had the privilege of working with Bill, when assigned to Troop G. He was one of the brightest, caring individuals I knew, a real gentleman. My prayers are with his family. God bless you, Bill.
Respectfully, Jerry Brown

I grew up with Bill being my father's partner and friend for most of their lives. He was truly a great man, a State Police legend, and he will be missed.
