Woodrow Moss Obituary

MANNING, S.C. Woodrow T. Moss, 62, formerly of Selkirk and Sacandaga Lake, N.Y., died Tuesday, December 16, 2003 at the V.A. Medical Center Hospital in Charleston, S.C., after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born in Troy, N.Y. on October 22, 1941, he was the son of the late George T. Moss and Vera Korenko Moss. He resided in Selkirk for many years before moving to Sacandaga Lake. He moved to S.C. from his home on Sacandaga Lake in October 2000. Woody was a retired truck mechanic and previous co-owner and co-founder of W & W Truck Transmission Repair of West Coxsackie, along with Wesley C. Demarest of Selkirk. He served proudly in the U.S. Navy for three years. Survivors include his loving wife, Janet (Parks) Moss of Manning; stepchildren, David Bellnier, wife Connie and their daughters of Beaufort, S.C., Elaine Bellnier of Beaufort, Denise Terry, husband Robert and their son, Kevin of West Galway, N.Y.; adopted son, Woodrow J. Moss; brother, Paul Moss of Latham; sisters, Ellen Moss and Barbara Keenan of the Albany area; also many friends and additional family. A memorial service will be held on January 3, 2004 in Manning, S.C. Stephens Funeral Home in Manning is handling arrangements. A memorial service will be held in N.Y. in late spring 2004. Memorial contributions may be made to V.A. Medical Center Voluntary Services, Ralph H. Johnson VA, 109 Bee St., Charleston, SC 29401-5703, Cancer Research or Albany VA.
