Alethea Reeves Obituary

REEVES Alethea Slater Reeves, 80, of Jacksonville, FL, widow of Robert Reeves. passed away Saturday, June 26, 2004. Mrs. Reeves was born in Bloomfield, NJ, attended Rutgers University where she met her husband, and worked for Prudential Insurance Co. in Newark, NJ. She moved to Jacksonville in 1953 and continued to work for Prudential in the Jacksonville office as a supervisor until 1961. She then completed courses to become a Licensed Practical Nurse. She worked for 6 years with Travelers Insurance Co. in the Medicare Department. Alethea was a member of Arlington Presbyterian Church, the Naomi Circle, the Lunch Bunch, and the Roadrunners. She also belonged to PERC (Prudential Employees Retirement Club). Surviving are her first cousin, Rosemary Dixon, of Lanoka Harbor, NJ, and a second cousin, Edward Rey, of Wappinger Falls, NY. Visitation will be 6 pm to 8 pm Monday, June 28 (TODAY) at COREY- KERLIN FUNERAL HOME, 940 Cesery Blvd. Funeral services will be held 11 am Tuesday at Arling ton Presbyterian Church, with Pastor William F. Emery, III and Rev. Robert Morris officiating. Graveside services, under the direction of Lewis & Carey Funeral Home, will be held in Rockaway Valley Cemetery, in Boonton, NJ at 1 pm Thursday, July 1, with Rev. Robert Morris officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to Arlington Presbyterian Church, 1300 Sprinkle Drive, Jacksonville, FL 32211. Please sign the Guestbook at Jacksonville.com
