ANN FRANKLIN Obituary

FRANKLIN Ann Marie Franklin, 57, went home to her Lord on Sunday, June 2, 2013. She was born in Findlay, OH on April 28, 1956 to her parents Carl (deceased) and Betty Smith. She is survived by brothers LeEdwin (Cindy) and Mark (Phyllis Ann), along with her husband of 33 years, Stephen, and their children Chase, Sydney, and Gus. Also, her horse Scooter and dog Murphy. Ann lived for her faith, family and later in life, her horses. You only had to meet Ann once to know she was a special person. Friendships were very important to her; starting with the operating room nurses she worked with at Baptist, neighbors in The Woods and Cove St Johns, the cabin girls, parishioners at Christ the King, teachers and parents at CTK School and Hendricks Day School and most recently her riding partners. A Memorial Mass for Ann will be celebrated 12:00 Noon Saturday, June 8, at Christ the King Catholic Church with Fr. Steven Zehler, Celebrant followed by a luncheon in celebration of Ann's life. Committal services at Arlington Park Cemetery will be private. The family will receive friends 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, June 7, at Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 940 Cesery Blvd. In lieu of flowers Ann has asked that donations be made to Northeast Florida Community Hospice (www.communityhospice.com) or Garden of The Pascal Mystery at Christ the King Catholic (www.ctkcatholic.com). Steve, Chase, Sidney and Gus - we were so sad to hear about Ann's passing. We know that she is now without pain and how happy she must have been to find Savannah and Abby waiting for her. She truly was such a wonderful, kind, funny woman. Every visit ended with our sides aching from laughter. She was a true friend to everyone she met and she will be missed terribly.

So sorry to hear about the loss of such a great lady! The Flying Fish were lucky to have her as one of our most memorable swim team moms :) She was so personable & friendly, and all of the coaches and guards loved talking with her - both at the pool and at the inevitable gatherings at the Franklin house. I was soo sad to read of Ann's passing. She was a dear, sweet friend. We played tennis together for years- on the Y team and then for fun.She was a marvelous player. Returned everything!!!With a sweet smile, of course. Always soft spoken, always concerned, always helpful. We kept in contact through email. She always ended with HUGS..Ann Kindest lady in the world. I miss her.She was excited about Sydney's wedding and brought beautiful pictures to share. When my husband passed, Ann, came to the house and asked if I would like her to remain behind and keep the house secure from any theft, while we all went to the wake. So gracious. Always thinking of others. She was a lady in the true sense of the word. We all adored her. God Bless you all.

To the family of Ann:

I had the pleasure to know and work with Ann in the operating room at Baptist Medical Center. She was a bubbly burst of joy always with a wide warm smile from ear to ear. I am sorry to learn of her passing even though our paths may have not crossed for some years her picture and smile immediately caught my attention tonight as I was reading the newspaper. May you find comfort and peace in the loving care of our Savior in the days before you and may Ann's sweet memories and beautiful spirit fill the void of your minds and hearts. Sweet rest to you my friend for we will miss you dearly.

This could not be more accurate: "You only had to meet Ann once to know she was a special person." It was only two weeks ago, but her energy and good spirits were truly inspirational. I am glad I had that pleasure. My heart goes out to the Franklin family.
