Brett Joseph Armbruster

1978 - 2015

ARMBRUSTER, Brett Joseph Armbruster, 36, passed away on August 3, 2015 in Jacksonville, FL following a courageous battle with metastatic melanoma. He was wrapped in his mother's arms and surrounded by family and friends. Brett was born November 11, 1978 in St. Petersburg, FL to Robert Joseph and Teri Lynne Armbruster. Brett was big brother to Brian, Rebecca, and Raina. He grew up in Jacksonville, FL where he spent most of his days working and playing outdoors. Brett graduated from Nease High School, class of '97, where he met many of his lifelong friends. He went on to graduate with an Associate Arts degree from FSCJ in May 2015. Brett's personality was truly larger than life. His charismatic nature and infectiously loud laugh drew people to Brett. The family would like to thank all of his medical team who cared for Brett during his fight. We would especially like to thank Dr. Miten Patel, MD of Cancer Specialists of North Florida for being on the frontline of the battle. And Dr. Cynthia Anderson, MD of Baptist Oncology Services, who Brett called his Quarterback, for giving us this amazing last year with our Brett. Brett is preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents. He is survived by his parents, Bob Armbruster and Teri Armbruster; brother, Brian Armbruster; sisters, Rebecca (John) Tschappat and Dr. Raina Armbruster, DO. Brett leaves behind his beloved black Lab, Jack. He is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Services will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church with a visitation on Friday, August 7 from 5-8pm in the Marian Center located behind the main church. A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, August 8 at 11am in the Historic Church. Reception to follow at the Armbruster's.
