CHRISTOPHER HUGHES Obituary

HUGHES With great loss and sorrow, we announce the death of Christopher M. Hughes who died August 2nd at the age of 58. He is survived by his beautiful wife Barbara, his loving son Christopher, his brothers: Buzz (Vicky), Ted (Susan), Jim, Brian (Kathy), and his sisters: Maureen (Lyle), Laverne (Steve), and Sylvia. He was the son of Gerald Pappy and Sylvia Hughes. Chris graduated from the University of Florida with a BS in electrical engineering and was a proud Gator fan. He was a member of the Civil Service for the DoD at Naval Air Station Jacksonville. Chris lived life to the fullest in every endeavor. He was an avid golfer and loved days on the course hanging out with his friends at Windsor Park. Memorials may be made to Northeast Florida Community Hospice, 4266 Sunbeam Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32257. A Celebration of his life will be held at Windsor Park Golf Club on Wednesday, August 21st at 4:00PM. His contagious grin and hearty laugh will echo in our thoughts forever. I've known Chris sense we were kids in Little League over at NAS Jax back in the 1960's. Throughout his lifetime, Chris always seemed to have fun any place he laid his faithful Gator hat. He will be greatly missed by his many friends, and loving family.

Barbara, Christopher & The Hughes Family, we were so sorry to hear about Chris. Our thoughts and prayers are with you thru this very difficult time! My fondest memories of Chris are over at Buzzy's and Vicky's house at Thanksgiving where we all had such a wonderful time with the Darrah's and the Hughes! May it comfort you to know that there are so many friends and love ones that care and are thinking of you all!??Love always??

I was so sorry to hear about the passing of Chris. My sympathy to you all. My mother passed on June 15th of this year and I can tell you that each day it will get a little better.

May God's love surround you and may memories fill you mind.

I have been retired for 16 years now but I remember Chris like I saw him yesterday.
