DONALD SHIRLEY Obituary

SHIRLEY Donald Alan Shirley, Sr., passed away on October 9, 2012 at the age of 76 in Nashville, Tennessee. Born to Levi and Kathryn Shirley, he grew up in Langley, South Carolina alongside his brother Robert. He spent several years in the Navy and then began his consuming passion for the Georgia Bulldogs as a student at the University of Georgia. During his career as a pharmacist he opened a chain of his own stores, known as Preston Pharmacy. A man who loved to go deep-sea fishing, he stayed close to the ocean most of his life, and always knew the best place to eat seafood. He was his happiest playing golf, reading books, living near the beach in Ponte Vedra, and watching football. His grandchildren will remember him for his love of ice cream, his wink, and his smile. He is survived by his four children: Donald Jr (Shannon), Brian, Mary Katherine, and Aimee (Matt) and his ten grandchildren. His memorial service will be held in Nashville.
