Doris Earline Rowell

ROWELL Doris Earline Rowell, 87, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 22, 2014. She was born April 25, 1926 in Lumber City, GA to the late David Ezra & Sarah Carol Varnadoe Harris. Doris was a member of Southside Christian Church for 50 years and will be dearly missed by all. She was predeceased by her 1st husband, Vernon B. Davis, Sr.; 2nd husband, Eddie Floyd Rowell, Sr.; brother, Edwin Bud Harris. Survivors include her 6 children, Vernon Davis, Jr., Barbara Crews, Linda Zdanciewicz, Beverly Logan (Ed), Sharon Weekley (Bob), Charlene Blair (Mike); sister, Wilma Jean Sellars; sister in law, Louellen Harris; 13 grandchildren, R. Larry Crews, Jr. (Peni), Lisa Cooper, Ronnie Zdanciewicz (Kimberly), Gary Zdanciewicz, Robin Tomilson (Mike), Kristy King (Parrish), Jason Davis, Jerry Shawver II (Gretchen), Anthony Shawver (Sandy), Wendy Whitlow, Bobby Weekley, Sarah Blair, David Blair; 21 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Memorial services will be held on Friday, January 24 at 11AM at Southside Christian Church, 6755 Atlantic Boulevard, with Rev. Janna Preston officiating, assisted by Rev. Fred Woolsey. The family will receive friends on Friday at the church beginning at 10AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Southside Christian Church in honor of Ms. Rowell.
