Edgar Emanuel Obituary

EMANUEL Edgar Allen Emanuel, 78, of Jacksonville, FL passed peacefully on Sunday, April 27th after a lengthy illness. He was born to the late Lou and Wooten Emanuel on February 10, 1936 in Bainbridge, GA. Ed graduated with an Associate s Degree in Criminology from Florida Junior College. He married Deborah Moore Tesori in 2006 and they resided in the Riverside section of Jacksonville until his passing. Ed was a veteran and served in the U.S. Army as a Military Police stationed overseas for 3 years before coming home and joining the Duval County Road Patrol which became the Jacksonville Sheriff s Office. After 23 years with J.S.O. he retired and started a new career with Duval County as a School Board Detective, where he stayed for another 20 years. He was an active member of the Masons and the Moroccan Shrine Temple where he served as Captain of the Shrine Provost Guard in 1984. Ed loved to hunt and competitively shoot target pistols with his family. He is survived by his wife of 8 years, Deborah Moore Emanuel; his sister, Emagene Willingham of Durham, NC; his 3 children, Libby Kania of Flagler Beach, FL, Shannon Porter of Jacksonville, FL and Keith Tesori of Jacksonville, FL; three Grandchildren; 4 Great-Grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 7 at 12PM at Spirit of Life Lutheran Church, 2636 New Berlin Road, Jacksonville, FL with Rev. Ellen S. Cross officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in Jacksonville National Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday beginning at 11AM.
