Geraldine Fleming Obituary

FLEMING Mrs. Geraldine Strain Fleming, the daughter of the late Joseph and Florence Strain, Sr., was born in Jacksonville, Florida in 1943. She attended the public schools of Jacksonville and graduated from Florida Community College of Jacksonville with an Associates Art Degree. She also became Licensed Practical Nurse. Her careers, in Florida and New Jersey, included cosmetology, substitute teaching and health care. For many years she held the position of Manager-Residential Group Home and Assistant Residential Director for Retarded Citizens Raritan Valley, North Brunswick, New Jersey. Prior to her short illness, she was a Recreational Therapist at Canbury Center Elder Care Network, Monroe Township, New Jersey. She leaves behind a brother Joseph Strain, Jr. (Myrna); aunts: Aretha Wiggins, Lottie Carlton of California, Mildred Hite, Vivian Frazier and Fannie Mae Shaw Gaines of Alabama; uncle: William Strain; cousins: Christal Spencer, Marcina Strain, Marvin Strain, Jr., Jacquelyn Smith of New Jersey, Johnny Strain of California, Leonard Gaines of Georgia, other relatives and sorrowing friends. Visitation will be held Wed., April 16th (TONIGHT) from 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home. Graveside Funeral Services will be held 11:30 AM, Thursday, April 17, 2003 at Edgewood Cemetery with Minister Priscilla Williams officiating.
