Helen Santana

SANTANA SANTANA--Helen Santana, a member of Sacred Heart Church for 47 years passed away on Saturday, January 19, 2014 at age 90. Born in Chicago, Illinois, she served in the Navy during World War II and in 1945 married Ceferino Santana who died in 2000. She loved arts and crafts and made thousands of rosaries which were donated to various charities. Helen also enjoyed making ceramics, doing needle work and crochoting blankets. Her last 5 and 1/2 years were spent living in Hastings on Hudson, New York with her daughter, Rosemary Santana Cooney, her son-in-law Patrick and grandson Carl. She is also survived by her son, Ceferino, a Vietnam veteran. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, January 22, 2014 from 5 - 7 PM at Jacksonville Memory Gardens Funeral Home, 111 Blanding Blvd., Orange Park, Florida. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, January 23, 2014, 11AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 5752 Blanding Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32244.
