Ida Daniel Obituary

DANIEL Ida Carmen Daniel, 54, devoted wife, mother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, cousin, teacher (Ms. Carmen) and cherished friend to so many, received her angel wings and passed from this life into the gates of Heaven on Saturday, July 9th, 2016. She was a native of Jacksonville, FL born on August 27, 1961. Carmen fought a short but valiant battle against pancreatic cancer to be here for her husband, children, and for the birth of her first grandchild, a little girl (Cora), due in September. Anyone who knew Carmen has no doubt she would have been the best grandmother. She was predeceased by her parents, Gene and Ann Sullivan, and her brother, Gene Jr. She leaves behind so many who deeply loved her and will forever miss her, including her wonderful husband of almost 27 years, Joel, and her children, Lindsay (Chris), Payge, Joseph, and a very special grand-niece whom she considered her granddaughter Makylah. Her husband and children were the lights of her life. She is also survived by her loving sister Cathy (Mike) and a sister-in-law JoAnn (Jerry), who both were by her side through everything, and a sister Karen (Randy). She was a beloved Aunt, who leaves behind many nieces and nephews, including Amanda, Easton, Anna, and Colton, whom she loved as if they were her own, and a very special cousin Joey(Amanda) and their son Cason. She devoted her career to teaching two and three year olds at Living Waters Preschool which has left a legacy for many young children. She will forever be remembered for her sweet smile, infectious laugh, and kind soul. She touched the lives of everyone she met and will be missed by everyone who knew and loved her. There will be a Celebration of Carmen's Life at Switzerland Community Church (2179 State Road 13, Switzerland, FL 32259) on Friday, July 15th. Visitation will be from 11am-1pm with a Memorial Service immediately following. The family will be welcoming friends and family at their home following the conclusion of the service.

My heartfelt sympathy to the family of Carmen. She was my grandson, Caden's, first teacher at Living Waters. Her smile was so beautiful and sincere. May you find comfort in your loving memories of her.

Joel, Lindsay, Chris, Payge, Joseph, words can not express the anguish I feel for you all. Carmen loved you all so very much. She had such a sweet smile and a wonderful sense of humor. How often I wished we could spend more time together. Kev's and my thoughts and prayers are with you, now and always. Carmen is already with Cora, loving her and will be with you all when Cora joins the rest of us here on earth. Please let me know what I can do. Love you guys.

She was a very special lady. The loving environment she created in her classroom was a blessing for our family. We always knew that our boys were in good hands when they were with Ms. Carmen. We will miss her.

It's so sad what happened to such a beautiful person. God rest her soul and may God be with her family and the ones that knew her.

Dear Joseph,
I remember your mom's contagious smile and enthusiasm for life. When she would bring her little ones over from Living Waters to Hickory Creek, it was clear that she loved what she was doing.
She always made a point to stop by our classroom to give you a hug. It was what moms did when they saw a child of theirs that they loved and was proud of.
I remember you as one of my favorite fifth graders, and my heart is breaking that your mom is gone from your life.
You and the rest of your family are in my prayers and I know that God will give you the strength to survive this difficult time and peace in your hearts in due time. Know that your mom loved you and took great joy in being your mom.

Sincere sympathies to the Sullivan and Daniel families. The first time I saw Carmen was at our neighborhood little league park. I knew she was a Sullivan. Nice to see she was named after her paternal grandmother. She sure looked like her. She used to sit with me and talk to me while I would tell her childhood tales about her father, uncles, and aunt. So very sorry to lose her at such a young age. She's on my Soul's prayer list.

Carmen was like a mother to me growing up. She lived next door to us and her door (back door and fridge door) was always open to me. She was the sweetest, funniest, and caring woman. A laugh that will forever be etched into my brain. I was so blessed to have her as a young girl. She will never know how much her open arms meant to me then and still do now. She had such an incredible impact on me. I will be forever grateful that God blessed me with her. I love you Carmen. I can't wait to laugh with you again.
