ISABELLE PARRIS Obituary

PARRIS Isabelle Deloris Parris was born in Jacksonville on August 31, 1935 to Lee Ella Holmes and Edgar Harris. Isabelle attended Davis Street school. While attending public school she met James E. Parris, Sr., they were married on May 4, 1952. Isabelle joined the Church of God located at the corner of Steele and Blue Streets immediately after they were married. She worked diligently as church cook and Gospel Choir member for many years. Isabelle worked as a cook at Edward Waters College located on Kings Rd in Jacksonville in the early 1960 s. She worked as a florist and sales clerk at the F. W. Woolworth Store in downtown Jacksonville on Hogan Street for ten years. Isabelle opened the Parris Garden Boutique located on the corner of 19th and Fairfax Streets in 1977. James and Isabelle both became licensed ministers in the Church of God and were appointed to the Eastside Church of God. In 1984 they established the Faith Deliverance Worship Center located on the corner of 17th and Fairfax Street. In 1990 Isabelle founded the Tempette Daycare at the same location as the church. The viewing of Mrs. Parris will be held on Friday, March 8, 2013 from 6 to 8 PM at the Faith Deliverance Worship Center, located 1757 West 17th Street. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the Open Arms Christian Fellowship Church, located at 2763 Dunn Ave. Burial in Edgewood Cemetery. The funeral cottage will form at A.B. Coleman Mortuary at 9:45AM. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting that donations be made to the Faith Deliverance Church, donations also shall be submitted to Dr. E.C. Gregory, at the Tempette School.
