James Battle Obituary
James "Jim" L. Battle, 73, passed away on August 17, 2018 in Orange Park, FL. He was born on July 9, 1945 in Jacksonville, FL to the late James Bernard and Regina Battle.
Jim was a graduate of the Robert E. Lee High School, Class of 1963. He was a dedicated employee of CSX Transportation for 30 years. James was a member of First Baptist Church of Orange Park.
Jim was a devoted husband, father and papaw. He was also an avid Florida Gator fan and Jacksonville Jaguar football fan.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, James Bernard and Regina Battle and his daughter, Lynn Battle Creighton.
Jim is survived by his loving wife, Ruth Battle; children, Loree Yarbrough (Jonathan); grandchildren, Kendall and Logan Yarbrough and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A visitation will be held today, August 21, 2018 at 11:00 am and funeral at 12 noon, both at First Baptist Church of Orange Park, 1140 Kingsley Ave, Orange Park, FL 32073

Mr Battle was a sweet man who was always happy,laughing and telling stories. He was a family man who always made sure Loree and Lynn were always taken care of with any of their needs just as a loving Father does for his loving children. It broke my heart to hear about his sudden passing but he is now with Lynn watching over the family. Ruth, Loree and family are in my prayers. Love, Sonya L Morris

Ruth and family, I am so sorry to read of Jim's passing. IT has been many years since I have seen you but never forgot our years at OPMC. I did not know Jim was a graduate of Lee, 63', I graduated in 64.I remember when you and Jim got your pool and started the pool thing with the business office group, me and Jean and I forget who else followed suit after you. Please know I have thought of you over the years. My condolences to you and your family.
