Jim was one of my favorite people and has been one of my best friends over the past 18 years. He was always able to put a positive spin on any situation. I have so many good memories, but in our most recent talks, we decided our lazy days spent in the pool and our love of watching Georgia Bulldog football were the best.
I will miss Jim every day.. his voice, his laugh. He was my special person. Until we meet again.. I love you Jim ❤

Jim had a heart of gold. He definitely marched to the best of his own drum. He always brought out the best in my mother. He adored her and I am grateful for the times that we all spent sitting around the wax covered wine bottle candles under the carport. I will cherish those conversations spent from high noon to twilight, from laughter to birdsong to utter silence, it was always in good company.
I enjoyed going his house and observing the quirky museum vibe - there was always something cool to look at but not touch. I’ll never forget the smell of antiques, cigarettes, and incense. He had a great influence on many of my budding interests at a time when I needed it the most. Jim was pivotal in helping me become confident and sure of myself. He was patient with me and kept a watchful eye. Jim helped me land my first job at an art supply and picture framing store. I never would have had the nerve to walk into the door without him, but got hired on the spot. I later commissioned several illustrations and a children’s book through that job not even turning twenty at the time. It was because of Jim always encouraging, always positive and seeing the best in everything. I will cherish the doodles we have collaborated on together. I have them to this day.
Jim was one of my longest standing friends. I love him more than I really knew I did. This is very painful news to hear and to find out the way I did. I wish I could have had a few last words to express how much he meant to me. As challenging as it will be to overcome my despair, Jim would have wanted me to make this a celebration of his life. So I will remain positive, stay patient and always try to find the good in everything.
Goodbye, ArtMan.

Jim was many things. He was my brother & I will miss him. He was a smart & funny man. He was a brilliant artist & a fine drummer as well. He taught me many things about what to do & not to do. May you rest in peace brother.
