My wife and I met Jim about 22 years ago when he got our name some how. He came to our house in Arlington to go over the four spiritual laws with us. We were newly weds and only beginning to get back into the church. Untill recently I had not set foot in a church since I graduated from high school 9 years earlier. He played an intergral part in helping us to realize what Christ did on the cross for me.
Since that time we have grown in our faith. We moved to Switzerland, FL in 1990 and joined Switzerland Community Church. Over time becomming a deacon, the treasurer and now an elder there. I leave on my third missionary trip to Russia in September.
My wife Michele and children Carly and Scotty have enjoyed a better life in part due to the faithful work of James Wilburn. God used him in mighty ways you will not know of on this side of heaven.

To Wandeana and Family,
I was surprised to hear of Jim's death. How he will be missed. He served in many quite ways. I could ask him about the Bible and he had a answer. What a great man of Faith!. Jim will be missed. A life worth knowing. Well done good and faithful servant. And we all will rejoice when we likewise see him in Heaven. Wandeana - may your memories of the many years of marriage help you through this difficult time. Remembering with both tears and joy.

I shall never forget Jim "Garcia" and how good he was to me as a younger teammate on our college football team. It is a blessing to know he has spent his life telling others about Jesus. What a legacy! May God bless and comfort you (his family) now and in the future. We will keep you in our prayers.

It has been many years since I saw Jim and Wandeana but I so remember when the Lord led them to join the Here's Life Jacksonville team and I helped with the moving in and getting settled arrangements. Jim was a fun person with a heart after God which made him a blessing to us all. I am grateful to have known him.
