Jeanne Kuss Obituary

KUSS Jeanne Cottrell Kuss, 80, died peacefully on September 14th, 2007 after a long neurological illness. She was born in Newport, Rhode Island on January 5th, 1927 and resided in Jacksonville, Florida for thirty eight years. She went to St. Catherine's Academy in Newport and attended Marymount College in both Tarrytown, New York and Los Angeles, California. She is survived by her children Susan (Nelson) Humphrey and Jamie (William) Cissel of Neptune Beach, Florida, Katie Kuss of Ponte Vedra, Florida, John Kuss of Jacksonville Beach, Florida and Jody Kuss of New York City as well as grandchildren Emma and Ellie Cissel and Joshua Kuss. She is also survived by her brothers John A. Cottrell of Los Angeles, California and James B. Cottrell of Middletown, Rhode Island. Jeanne was working in New York City in 1955 at the William Morris Agency, when she had a blind date with John "Jack" Kuss. They married soon after and celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in March of 2005. She was predeceased by Jack, who passed away November 15th, 2005. She was a loving mother and grandmother who shall forever be missed by her family and friends, not only her for her love but her sense of humor and wit. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, September 20th, at 9:00am at St. Mary's Church in Newport, Rhode Island.
