He certainly is here in spirit as I listen to the many "John" stories...he was indeed one of a kind. I knew your son in high-school. He, Jesse, and I always had so much fun together. I remember him always laughing. My fondest memory was of him sitting behind me in PE playing in my hair. He cracked me up. What a great guy. He will be missed. My prayers go out to you.

There will never be another Johnny Ace Manternach from Davenport, Iowa.. we can all be assured of that!
So glad to have made the pilgrimage from Santa Monica back for the ceremony.
It was amazing seeing all the old faces, such a testament to how many people John touched throughout his remarkable life.
He will be sorely missed beyond words, but remembered for a wise crack and very wise mind.
To the Manternach family, we will always remain in touch.
Thank you for sharing such a brilliant person with all of us.

It is a struggle to find the appropriate words to express our feelings for you at this time. We are greatful for haveing been able to be together last summer at Kay and Terry's wedding.
