Joseph James Fessler Sr.

FESSLER Joseph James Fessler, Sr., 76 of Neptune Beach, FL, died peacefully June 16, 2004 at the Hadlow Center of Community Hospice surrounded by his family. He was born September 2, 1927 in Passiac, New Jersey and moved to Neptune Beach in 2001 from Miami Springs. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corp during World War II and retired from Bell South following 20 years of service. He was a member of Blessed Trinity Catholic Church in Miami Springs. Family members include his son, Joseph James Fessler, Jr. of Jacksonville, FL; daughters. Cynthia Standridge of Durango, CO, Gail Zylstra of Phoenix, AZ, Helen Jones of Hollywood, FL, Donna Hope of Neptune Beach, FL and Christine Kennedy of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL; brother, Richard Fessler of New York, N.Y.; sisters, Violet Fields of Sterling, VA and Rose Berliner of Siesta Key, FL; 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. His wife, Helene Fessler, predeceased him in 1989. The family would like to acknowledge the care and compassion given to Mr. Fessler by his angel and caregiver, Christie Patterson. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Friday (today), June 18th followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Quinn-Shalz, A Family Funeral Home with the Reverend William Kelly of St. Paul's Catholic Church as Celebrant. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 19th in the Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery in Miami, FL In lieu of flowers or donations, Mr. Fessler has requested that you take a reflective walk on the beach.
