Karen Squires Obituary

SQUIRES Karen Baker Squires, 67, passed away on October 5, 2010 in Vero Beach, FL. Beloved wife of Thomas E. Squires, dear mother of Randall E. Squires and the late Rob D. Squires (Diana), Grandmother of Jackson T. Squires. Peter Levin who was thought of as a son. Niece to Paul and Wanda Squires, cousin to Sherri Etheridge. Karen was born in Dallas, Texas, June 14, 1943 to Thomas Baker and the late Elizabeth (Betty) Baker. Karen lived most of her live in Jacksonville/ Orange Park, FL. She had a graduate degree in Special Education from the University of North Florida. Karen will be remembered most for unselfish devotion to her husband, sons, grandson, family and many friends. A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 16, 2010 at 1:00 PM at Church of Our Savior: 12236 Mandarin Road, Jacksonville, FL 32223. There will be a reception immediately following the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made on Karen's behalf to the VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach, 1110 35th Lane, Vero Beach, FL 32960 or for ALS research, to the Florida Chapter at ALSFL.org. I believe this is the Karen Squires and her family that I used to babysit for years ago. I met them at Holy Cross Episcopal Church in Jacksonville. They lived in my neighborhood (Ribault Manor) on Donna Drive. I remember how sweet Karen was and was such a loving Mom to those 2 precious little boys.

My sympathy and prayers are with Karen's family - I will remember her always.
