Leonard Cerrato Obituary

CERRATO Please Sign the Guestbook @ Jacksonville.com Leonard A. Cerrato, 72, passed away on Thursday, July 12, 2012 in Jacksonville, FL. He was born on April 17, 1940, in Canton, OH, to the late Daniel and Julia Cerrato, and raised in Meadville, PA. Len received a bachelor s degree in business from Allegany College, a finance degree from Jones College, and was a Certified Public Accountant. He spent many years working for companies including Anchor Hocking, Firestone, Ryder P.I.E. and Clay Electric. He enjoyed tennis, boating and flying, and had earned his pilot s license. Len is survived by his love, Valarie Mickler; his children, Tina (Bryan) Craun and Tammie (John) Frost; grandchildren, Courtney and Cameron Craun, and, Noah and Amelia Frost; sister, Marguerita (Eugene) Miller; nephews, Steve and Mark Miller; nieces, Gina Friesl and Lisa Miller; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Monday, July 16, 2012 at Aaron and Burney Bivens Funeral Home, 529 Kingsley Avenue, Orange Park, FL 32073 (904) 264-1233. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at the funeral home, with Ken Pence presiding. The family would like to give special thanks to the doctors and nurses at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, especially Dr. Jose Soto Soto.

Dear Tina & Tammy, You may not remember me. I knew your Dad when he dated Judy and I was dating Roy. I have a son named Aaron. We had some great times together. Len was a thoroughly nice man, funny, a great conversationalist. I liked him very much. I was so sad to read of his passing. He was much too young to leave this life. May God give you both peace and comfort in your loss and may you be sustained my good memories of your Dad and how much you both meant to him.

Dear Tina and Tammy, what a sad day for you both. I know what it is to lose a father (7/1/81) and it will always feel like it was just yesterday. He was certainly proud of you and your families. Soon you will have time to sort through all the good memories. My most memorable time with your dad is what a laugh he got when we were all in the water at Kingsley Lake and a snake crawled up on my shoulder. He was laughing too hard to help me out.
