Linda Stewart Obituary

Stewart
Linda Hand Stewart, resident of Neptune Beach, Florida, passed away on August 15, 2021, at the age of 63 following an unexpected illness. Linda was born October 28, 1957, in Jacksonville, Florida, and raised on Jacksonville's westside with her three siblings. She graduated from Paxon High School in 1975, began working at Westside Dodge then enjoyed a 20-year career in the federal government with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development-Jacksonville Office, before acquiring Archway Gallery & Frame Shop on Penman Road at the Beaches in 1997, currently located and operating in Atlantic Beach. In 2007, she conceived and coordinated The North Beach Art Walk in the Beaches Town Center District for nearly a decade. Linda was smart, beautiful, funny, talented and kind, bringing joy to all who knew her. She was a vivacious, compassionate, insightful, energetic, God-fearing and entrepreneurial woman who deeply loved her family and friends, impacting many locally with her kindness, caring and concern including youth at various churches – Beaches Chapel, Calvary Chapel-Jacksonville - and with Cross Street Ministries' summer and winter camps and their several foreign mission trips to Peru. Linda also loved to garden and work in the yard, spending free time enjoying the peace of her backyard fountain and gazebo "sanctuary." Linda was preceded in death by her father, Vernon Hand (1935-1985) and mother, Yvonne Robinson (1935-2019).
Linda is survived by her brothers, Vernon Daniel (Darlene) Hand, Dell (Alaina) Hand; sister, Fay Hand (Jack) O'Brien. She will be sorely missed by her husband of 28 years, Matthew, and their adult children: Barak (Amanda); Coby (Kaitlin); Wesley (soon-to-be daughter-in-law Moriah); Whitney and granddaughter, Emma Davis.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Beaches Chapel on Saturday, August 28, 2021, at 2:00 pm, located at 610 Florida Boulevard, Neptune Beach, Florida 32266; and accessible online via: www.beacheschapel.com. We've lost a Christ-focused matriarch who made such a difference in the lives of church youth in particular. Our deepest condolences to all of our friends in the Steward family.

I have know Linda for a very long time. In Fact, I know her entire family, we attended the same church while growing up. In addition, I looked with her in the Federal bldg. I worked for IRS. Linda was such a sweet person and always so much fun. She came from a very loving family and I´m sure Danny, Fry, & Dale are going to miss her so much. To her children & husband I know you´ve suffered a great loss and I´m so sorry. RIP Linda, you fought a good fight.

I couldn't have said it better than Mama B. I suspect many feel the same since she was pure love. I've been friends with Linda since the first grade. We lost contact for a while but reconnected to experience the northern lights in AK and synchronized fireflies in NC with her grandaughter Emma. I share the empty void and send my love to all her family and friends.
