Michael Estes Obituary

ESTES Michael Robert Estes, aged 53, passed away at home on Sunday, November 9th. He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Kathy; daughter, Miranda Webster (James), and sons, Justin and Joshua; his mother, Myrtle; sisters, Cheryl Estes, Cindy Estes, Martha Trent and Joan Humphries, and grandchildren, Jordan and Mathew. Michael (Mikie) was a loving husband and beloved father to his family. Mikie owned and operated Jacksonville Sports Card Center for many years. His love of life and wonderful sense of humor will be fondly missed by his family and friends. A memorial service will be held at 7P. M., November 13th, at Hardage Giddens Funeral home at 4115 Hendricks Ave. Please sign the Guestbook at Jacksonville.com

So sadden to hear of Mike's passing. Go way back with him and his brother Lurch. Even though you lose touch over the years, there are people you never forget and think of from time to time - Mike was one of those people. My deepest condolences to Kathy and his entire family.

I KNEW MICHAEL FOR MANY YEARS WHEN WE HAD A MADZA DEALERSHIP. HE WAS THE BEST AT HIS JOB. ALWAYS HAPPY AND FRIENDLY. WE ONLY MET ONCE OR

Dear Dad, I have missed you every day for a week now. I will always love you, and thank you so much for being such a great father to me, Josh, and Justin. Some fathers give their children life, but you gave us a WONDERFUL life. We have so many beautiful memories. Thanks for giving me your great sense of humor, and for teaching us about love. Mike will be greatly missed. I'll miss stopping in and buying cards and talking with him. I just saw him and laughed with him last week. I've bought cards from him since the Normandy Mall card shows. I later worked right down the road from him when my father owned A's Cards & Comics. I always knew Mike as a great guy. My father and I express condolences to his family and our prayers are with them. God bless.

My deepest sympathies to the Estes family. Although I hadn't seen Mike in quite a few years, he was an old friend I remember fondly and I am sad to hear of his passing. I still think of and miss William (Lurch) after 28 years as well. May God be with and guide you in your time of sadness.
