My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time. I was out of town and just heard about Michael. I went to school with Michael and Charles. Michael was a good friend. Keep the memories close in your hearts I know I will. Just remember now that JESUS has another ANGEL in HEAVEN watching over us all. Love, Debbie (Ladson) Self

Jonathan, Joel,
I was very shocked and sad when I heard what happened to Mike. I have nothing but fond memories of your dad and the times we shared together. Remember roller skating? How about the time you guys stayed at my house with Lissa while I went to the Keys....I am sure you had fun while I was gone. Mike was #1 in my book as a friend, would do anything for anyone. He was and always will be my Bubba. Love you guys,
Jamie Manning

I was shocked to hear of Mikes home going and my deepest sympathies are with you all, Mike was a great influential part of our church as a great musician and friend and was considered family from day one. May God give you strength and peace to keep on going in faith and the hope that one day we will all reunite with loved ones who wait for us to join them.

Dear Family,
I am deeply saddened to hear that Michael is gone. Michael along with Nancy Tew and Deana Blankenship greeted me and other black students during the inception of integration with a high degree of genuine friendliness. They told me they all knew and loved my mother "Toye" Michael would often share with his classmates the joy of knowing Jesus. Michael often laughed about the deep voice of his younger brother Charles. He shared his love for music and was often fascinated because I could play the piano. Michael demonstrated his love for Christ by being a friend to all. I shall never forget when I moved back to Callahan from Daytona, how Michael greeted me and my family in his auto store. My wife was absolutely astonished as to how we spoke as if we were family. I told her that "We were all in God's family"

Dear family,
I am so sorry for your loss. I grieve for you and with you.
Michael was a dear friend in high school. He was full of fun, deep love and true kindness. He spoke often of his love for his cool parents that rode motorcycles together. I know He loved his brothers and sister because he spoke so often about them and with such pride. I am sure he must have been a wonderful father and grandfather too.
His music was deep in his heart and I am so glad that he was still using his wonderful gift.
We met in Zeta Phi and even way back then his love of the Lord was so much a part of him.
I live far away now, but my prayers and thoughts will be with you all.
