Michael was such an amazing person and will be dearly missed by more people than you will ever know. Janet you were fortunate in that you were loved by your "Soul Mate", even though his life end way to soon. Most people go through their entire lives never having experienced that kind of love. It was apparent by the tribute Mark gave at Michaels funeral that Michael had a postive and loving affect on Mark. God Bless you Janet and I will keep you in my prayers. You are awesome!

Our thoughts and prayers are with Janet and the family of Mike.

We first met Mike when we all worked for Clay County. Mike was always so "happy" for me to call, because my calls always started with 1 question and then continue to 3 or 4 questions before I ever gave him a chance to speak. Usually he would just laugh and then tell me "lets take 1 question at a time". I will miss his laugh and his smile. We want to extend our sincere condolences and to pass on a little poem we heard a long time ago.

In My Pocket

I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.
My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.
They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.
Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.
But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.

I hope this poem helps bring you comfort.

Michael and Janet Mauldin have been like a second family to me ever since I was stationed in Jacksonville over 10 years ago. I was introduced to them by my great friend and former roommate, Marcus Meyer, and from the very first day, they welcomed me in to their home with open arms. It meant a great deal to me during the holidays when I could not be with family in NY. With a heavy heart, I send my most sincere condolences to your family. I wish for you the strength and courage to persevere during these extremely difficult times, and continue through life with the same abundance of joy of the simpler things that Michael did each day.

Janet,

Mike was not only a co-worker but a friend. Mike and I first became friends when he worked at the Clay County Clerk's Office. I was so happy when Mike later joined us at the Nassau County Clerk's office. He was always running into my office and saying we need to talk...... some of the most memorable times were when we talked about our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We shared a lot of our faith with each other and I will truly miss those conversations.

I will miss him but know that I will see him again in Heaven. That gives me hope and peace.

He was a part our work family and we will never let his memory fade away.

We are a phone call away if you need anything.

I am flying out tomorrow morning to attend a wedding in Texas. I am so sorry I will not be able to attend the homegoing celebration for Mike.

I will be in touch when I return home. I want you to know you can call on his work family for anything you need.

God Bless you and your family.

I am so sorry for your loss of such a wonderful man. I worked with Mike at the Nassau County Clerk's Office and will always remember Mike's smile and will cherish the time I was allowed to work with him. You all will continue to be in my prayers and I know our God will give you the peace that passes all understanding, and it's the peace that only He can give. We don't always understand things, but, lean not to our understanding but lean on God and He will sustain you. When the sun goes down and you feel all alone, rest assure that you are not alone because God will pick you up and place you in His lap, and when you feel a little air brush by your forehead, that will be our God kissing you and giving you that assurance that you are not alone. God bless you all and lean on God because He is your strength.

Words can't express how sorry I am for your lost. May all of you hold on to the time God allowed you'll to have with Mike. Remember, he has left this earthly rim, however he is in a better place (Heaven). May his smile and the memories of him remain in your heart. I will always cherish the time God allowed me to work with Mike, and the times I conversed with him. I will continue to pray for you all, as you cope with this season in your life. Remember, earth has no sorrow that heaven can't heal!

"Absent from the body, present with the Lord"

We shall all be before the Lord on Judgment Day immediately upon death of the body. One moment after death when you are absent from the body you are, literally, present with the Lord.

Michael is now an Angel with the Lord.
