CALHOUN Mrs. Myrtie L. Jackie Calhoun, 80, passed away Sunday, February 10, 2013 surrounded by her family. Mrs. Calhoun was born in Vienna, Georgia. She worked for over 40 years as a medical transcriptionist, enjoyed traveling and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Mrs. Calhoun was a member of Highlands Baptist Church and former Sunday School Teacher. She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Charley Jarvis C.J. Calhoun in 1993 and is survived by her 2 children: Bonnie Roberts (John) and Charley Calhoun; 2 sisters: Jean Dunn (John) and Mary Tanny Daaryd; 2 brothers: Richard and David Daaryd; 3 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, February 14, 2013 at Highlands Baptist Church, 2159 Broward Road, with Dr. Art Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in Hughes Cemetery in Yulee, Florida. Her family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Wednesday (TODAY) February 13, 2013 at Peeples Family Funeral Homes, North Jacksonville Chapel, 2220 Soutel Drive near Lem Turner Road.
