Daddy, It´s hard to believe we are coming up on 8 years that you went to your eternal home. I am pretty sure that you have been getting things all ready for when Momma and the rest of us get there to join you. 8 years seems like a forever ago BUT it only seems like yesterday that you left. You are still missed DEARLY and held very close to our hearts. We think of you all the time if not every day. I said this to you before and I will say it again, we will see you real soon and when we do, it won´t seem like anytime has passed at all. I LOVE YOU DADDY!!

To Barbara and family... My heart is broken for you all. O.C. was one of the best-hearted and loving men I ever knew and so devoted to his family and his faith. He cared about everyone else before himself. He was one of the best nurses I've known. I am proud he was my co-woker, my boss, and friend to me and me family for almost 20 years. He will be so missed by everyone who knew him. I'm sorry I missed his service. It was past before I knew when it was being held.

OC and I served in the Navy together. He was a great leader and human being. We met at the Cancer Specialists of NF twice and the last time he told me how he was glad to be sick as it had brought him closer to God. I hope I can have the same confidence later; I will certainly try to follow his example. Fair Winds and Following seas shipmate.

OC and I worked together for many years at the endoscopy center. I will always remember how he put everyone he came in contact with at ease. He made it his mission to make tired and fearful patients smile with jokes about today being his first day on the job and how glad they should be that he had just watched the training video. He made me smile every day and was a source of strength when anyone needed him. I remember being inspired by his obvious love for and dedication to "Barb" and how his face would light up when he spoke about Baylor. My most sincere condolences on the loss of the wonderful man--please know I am keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers.

He was OT to me not OC. If I said it once I have said it a million times. He is the closest thing to an angel I have ever met. I got to tell him wherever he is going "put in a good word for me because I know you are going to the right place and I need all the help I can get" Will miss this Yoo-Hoo drinking, smiling man/angel. I did not know angels liked Yoo-Hoo so much.

Barbara and family, we were so saddened to learn just moments ago that O.C. passed on Wednesday. He was a real fighter and fought to the end. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this time and certainly will be in the days to come. We thank you both for your friendship and prayers for Larry and I over the past three years. I am thankful for the time God has given us to get to know a little bit more about you and O.C. May God give you comfort and peace in the months ahead. If Larry and I can help in any way, please let us know. In His love,

Dear Barb and family, my deepest condolences at this time..Otis was a wonderful person, humanitarian, compassionate, ethical and moral man. I am glad to have had him as a colleague years ago but more as a friend through the years that even if contact not frequent, one knew you were friends and there if needed. The Christmas cards and notes keep the link along with an occassional phone call wanting to catch up on fellow coworkers who had popped into his mind...His smile will be remembered as we celebrate the goodness he brought to this world..God Bless you,

I never had the honor of knowing O.C. Smith personally, but felt I did as his precious daughter Rona always spoke of him, and how much she loved him. Smith family, Rona and Baylor, know you are in my thoughts and prayers. He is in a better place now, and yes, cancer free! May your heart recall the happier times of his life with you, and may these memories sustain you during this time of loss.

It is with love for you and O.C. that I say he shall be missed. In prayer with God for you, Judy Swindull
