I remember Rita Irmen for her kindness to me and my brothers and sisters. I was about 10 years old when our mother passed away. We went to live with different aunts and uncles while our father was trying to get his life back in order after the death of his second wife. When he brought us home to become a family again it was wonderful but we were motherless. Rita Irmen became a real presence in our lives. She loved us, laughed with us, took us places and helped to fill the void. I wll never forget her and I am eternally grateful for the care and kindness she gave us during a very difficult time in my life and the lives of my brothers and sisters.
