Ruven Bob GALVAN

GALVAN Ruven Bob Galvan, 84, passed away peacefully on October 3, 2015, in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his loving wife and family. Ruven enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1950, following graduation from Bowie High School in El Paso, TX. After retiring as a Chief Petty Officer in 1970, Ruven moved with his family to Jacksonville, FL, and spent most of his remaining career with McDonald's Corp., where he worked for over forty years. When remembering Ruven, don't forget to Be Nice and sing a little Don't Let the Stars Get in Your Eyes. Ruven is survived by his wife, Rebecca, of 55 years, and their children, Rebecca Teresa Trotter (David), Ruven Galvan, Daniel Galvan (Sandy), Robert Galvan (Kristin), Rachel Carter (Fred), and Denise Galvan Jameson (Cliff). He leaves behind three sisters, Yolanda, Irene, and Lydia, and his beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 5:00pm, on Monday, Oct. 12th, at Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 940 Cesery Blvd., and burial service will be at 11:00am, on Tuesday, Oct. 13th, at Jacksonville National Cemetery.
