Stephen Glowacki Obituary

Glowacki
It is with great sadness that we announce that Stephen H. Glowacki passed away on October 20th following a battle with brain cancer. Steve was born on March 25, 1961 to Jeanette and Henry Glowacki in Anchorage, Alaska.
He is preceded in death by his father and survived by his mother; sister, Linda (Chuck) Henderson; niece, Lauren Henderson; nephew, Alex Henderson; his partner of 17 years, Debbie Sechler, along with her children, Jessica (Matt) Maloney, Kenny (Matt) Sechler, and grandson Jackson Maloney. Steve was a local radio disc jockey for 20 years, working for Cox broadcasting until 2002. He was currently employed as a TSA screener at JIA. Steve has always been referred to as the "MacGyver" of our family. He enjoyed fixing everything, from cars to lawn mowers to anything else he thought was broken. Steve was known for his colorful sense of humor and enjoyed socializing with friends & family. As Steve requested there will be no services. We ask that you raise a glass and remember Steve with a smile.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of HARDAGE-GIDDENS FUNERAL HOME OF MANDARIN, 11801 San Jose Blvd. Jacksonville, FL 32223. www.hgmandarin.com (904) 288-0025.

A sad anniversary. Miss you, my friend. Obscure cultural references aren't the same without you to appreciate them.

I just discovered his passing and I'm shocked. Immensely talented and off-the-charts funny guy. I'm honestly incredibly sad to learn that he's gone. See you on the other side, buddy. Love ya.

I miss my change-the-lyrics bud. Every time I play that game, I know I'm a pale shadow of the master. When I think of a wickedly funny one, I keep wanting to pass it along to Steve In The Knight-Time, but, of course, I remember that the time for that is gone. Miss you, my friend. Sending love to his loved ones.

On this sad anniversary, I am still shocked, and still sad that such a fun, energetic force was taken so early.
In my mind, I can travel back to the German deli in the Oaks Mall, back in the early 80s, and have a beer and people watch. You´d make my face hurt from laughing so hard at your running commentary and captioning of the unsuspecting people around us!
Still thinking of you, Steve. Thank you for all the great memories.

Steve was such an upbeat person, I worked along side him for nearly ten years with TSA. We shared so many funny stories and he always had me laughing on a regular. He always talked about Miss Debbie and how much they loved going out to the local pub to have oysters and beer and his love for the dog track. Many great memories.. ready in peace my friend. You will be missed.

Im in shock. I didnt realize Steve had left us. What a loss. Steves humor brings a smile to my face almost every day, as a memory will pop up from years ago; early 80s, with his dancing, love of music, quick wit, his constant battle with his blue gremlin car, his recovery from his ankle fractures He got at a concert .... him graciously being my model for a hair competition when I was in cosmetology school. I decked him out as Darryl Hall! I am so sorry. My deepest condolences to the entire family.

I'm so sad to hear that Steve is gone. We became friends in the late 80s and he trained me at my first radio station. We worked together at two stations and remained friends in all the years afterward. He told me via social media in the spring of 2019 that he had been informed of some health problems, but as usual, made jokes about it. I will always love ya, bud. There will never be another like you.

I will always remember Steve. Steve trained me 12 years ago when I started my career with TSA. Steve was funny and loved hot sauces. When we had the opportunity to talk at work we always talked about food, especially the peppers that he grew in his garden. Rest In Peace.

My family moved to Lake City in 1972 and into the same neighborhood the Glowackis. Steve and I became friends then best friends, and remained so. We fell out of touch when he moved to Jax and I left Lake City as well. All I have is the great memories of the antics we got into, as well as us working on cars. His '68 Electra 225 was his pride and joy! Farewell my best friend, I'll never forget you. My deepest condolences to Ms. Jean and Linda.
