Steve Kocsis Obituary

KOCSIS Steve Edwin Kocsis began his life journey 8/12/1942 as the only son of Susanna and Stephen Kocsis of Windber, PA. After studying architecture at Penn State, he went to Cornell University. There he got a degree in Planning and met his future wife, Patricia Dawson. Their 49 year marriage began with the Peace Corps in Panama City and Regional Planning took the family to Manchester, NH, then Cumberland, MD. In 1982, a complete change of careers had them choose Jacksonville, FL as the location for Design Circus Art and Framing that later became Dawson Gallery. His skills and design sense in picture framing live on in many homes in the area. His curiosity, interest in people, and advice to keep your sense of humor made him many friends. His journey ended January 8, 2017. He is survived by his wife Patricia, daughter Jennifer Phillips, son Thomas, and grandchildren Kaylin and Stephen Christian Kocsis.

Pat, You and Steve always made me glad to come through the door of your shop. While I miss his intellectual AND cheerful conversation (and the very high professionalism that Dawson's offered/insured), I am comforted that he is free of pain. I pray for your comfort and peace in whatever form is possible. I love getting to see Jennifer and will plan a time for the three of us to visit. You all make me proud to have grown up in New Hampshire! Much affection, Susan Greene
