Theron Hurbert Ray

RAY Theron Hurbert (TH), 89, passed away Oct. 21, 2003. Born in Glenville, Ga., he was a resident of Jacksonville for 62 yrs. and worked in the road construction business most of his life, last retiring from Dickerson Corp. He was a member of E. 44th Street Baptist Church, Solomon Lodge #20 F&AM, Scottish Rite Bodies, and Morocco Temple of the Shrine. Survivors included his wife of 60 years, Ruby Lee Lane Ray; 2 sons, Charles H. Ray, Sr and Jackie W. Ray and wife Carolyn; 2 sisters, Ruby Coleman and Ouida Dubberly; 5 grandsons and 9 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:30 until 8:30pm Thursday (tonight) and hold funeral services at 11am Friday in the chapel of Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home Northside Chapel, 4315 Main St., with Pastor Patrick Vaughn, Rev. Jeff Ray, and Rev. Mike Ray Officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery with Masonic Rites conferred by Solomon Lodge.
