To Tommy, Rick, Mark, their wives and children: our hearts are broken for you, and we love you.
As for the rest of us, our family simply will not be the same without Tommy. He took the "oldest male cousin" role seriously; sometimes aggravatingly so when I didn't want to hear what he had to say, but always with a lot of love and great humor. If you knew him, you get exactly what I'm saying; he could drive you crazy, and yet have you in stitches at the same time!
He also felt a real sense of responsibility for the women in our family, and all of us knew all we had to do was say the word, and he would be there. He was generous and as the saying goes, "would give you the shirt off his back". He had a very tender heart.
We're all bereft and so sad, but we are also blessed to have had such a great man in our lives. The bright spot is knowing we'll all be gathered as a family again.

My sympathy goes out to Tommy's beautiful family at this difficult time. I have known Tommy since 1952 when we were in third grade together at St. Joseph's Academy on 7th St.and later at Bishop Kenny. We were little league team mates at Panama Park in the 1950's. He was my friend and he will be missed.

I met Tom at Seaboard Coastline Railroad the first week after I was hired. Tom made everybody feel happy. He was always laughing and I know so many funny stories about him, that I shared with my family.
I know life will not be the same with him, but you all have so many years together that can bring you comfort and joy.
Every time I think of him I smile..
I feel blessed to have been his friend.

We met Thomas Toney only once, at the wedding of our niece, Claudia Crawford, to Rick Toney, his son. Rick is a good man that we are proud to call our nephew. I am so sorry to hear about Tom Toney. I worked for Champion Int'l in the Reflections Bldg. where his restaurant was located. He was a very funny guy. He could make a good pita bread breakfast sandwich.

I am so sorry to hear about Tommy. We grew up together, grammer school and high school. He always got me into trouble in Mr. Durrant's classes because he had no problem getting me laughing. I hadn't seen Tommy in quite a while but I thought of him often. He made this world a better place because of his presence.

Tom Toney, he was a great person. He was the reason I had lunch somedays until payday. He allowed us at Champion Intl, Baymeadows Way to have a 2 week tab for our lunches. Great guy, and loved his Darlene. Wonderful person.

There is really no way to express how shocked I am. I am reminded of all the memories of our families over the decades. They are priceless and really fill my heart with joy. Uncle J T, Aunt Maggie, my Mom and Dad and our families at the salaam club, Their family coming to the house during holidays. Things change as you get older and we go our separate ways But I will always remember Tom during some of the fondest times growing up. He loved His family, my prayers go out to them. Toney was my classmate at Bishop Kenny. Me and other classmates had been meeting with him recently for dinner once a month. Boy did he have some tale to tell! He was kind hearted and bigger than life. I know he is in the peace and comfort of God's love now.

Dear Tommy Jr, Mark, Rick and Family; I can't begin to express my sadness with "Mr. Toms" passing. Over the past 30 some odd years, we have grown from being mutual customers to good friends. "Mr. Tom" was a true friend, great listener and when asked, gave some pretty good advise. He dearly loved Ms. Darlene, you men, his daughters in law and "the grand babies". We often shared success stories of our children and occasionally bragged about our college team. I always looked forward to the opportunity of seeing "Mr. Tom" each week, knowing he had some unshared wisdom, a joke, words of encouragement or just a friendly smile and a firm hand shake to pass my way. I will surely miss that now. He leaves behind a wonderful legacy in each of you. I look forward to seeing him once again, as we Christians by faith are promised. May The Lord Jesus Christ comfort you during this time and in the days to come.
